Ever since the demise of the Proust blog (link alongside) and the recent malaise of Facebook's Books application there has been a distinct lack of a suitable location in Cyberspace in which one can discuss one's reading in an appropriately pretentious and over-indulgent manner. Alas, no longer.
This blog ostensibly exists to chart our progress through Powell's Dance, but proclamations, however ridiculous, on Powell, Proust or anyone/anything else are entirely welcome, indeed are very warmly encouraged.
Mr Garrood, I am certain, will furnish us with further complicated ground rules for the Powellathon, but for my part I am in favour of simplicity. 12 volumes, thus one per month for a year. Each Powellanaut should blog at least once per volume/month.
As for the start date - we can either begin in August or September. Opinions please?

A Dance to the Music of Time is a twelve-volume cycle of novels by Anthony Powell, inspired by the painting of the same name by Nicolas Poussin. It has sometimes, erroneously, been referred to as a roman à clef. One of the longest works of fiction in literature, it was published between 1951 and 1975 to critical acclaim. In 2008/09, following a similar and (for the most part) successful attempt to read Proust, we finally got around to it.

I vote for a September start, in no way related to the fact we're planning to go away for a couple of weeks and should therefore be able to actually get a good start in.
Still, marathon not a sprint etc etc eh?
Do we have a preferred edition? Will seems to have ended up with some ghastly TV tie-in =)
I second a September start, though for different reasons.
And I am not commenting on the ghastliness of my TV tie-in. But it is disappointing.
